4. Hawaiian Music
The ethnic groups residing on the Hawaiian Islands mostly use percussion instruments, the chants to create a simple music style that is attractive with the rhythm and the way they are conveyed. Up to now, the music style of Hawaiians has a little mixed with modern music such as rock'n'roll, jazz, and blue. However, these are just additional spices for the uniqueness that local residents want to deliver through music. One of the most typical musical instruments you can see in Hawaii is the ukulele. If you do not know about this instrument, imagine a 4-stringed musical instrument similar to a guitar but with only 1/3 of the guitar size. Ukulele was introduced to the Hawaiian islands in the 19th century and is still an important part of the music tradition today.

Lei is an ornamental garland that you can often see at many important events of Hawaii residents. The lei is often used in special occasions such as graduation, birthday, marriage, etc. as a way of congratulating. Lei necklaces are often made up of colorful flowers in Hawaii such as: Hawaiian hibiscus, plumeria, pikake,… You will soon feel the aroma of these flowers right after the lei is put on your neck.

6. Outdoor shoes must be left before entering houses
Unlike other parts of the United States, the culture of wearing shoes at home in Hawaii is different from the rest of the country and other European countries. Outdoor shoes should be left at the front door and neatly placed before entering. A custom that looks very "Asian", isn't it? In fact, this is a culture borrowed from Japan, with a little resonance from the warm climate of Hawaii, taking off your shoes will be more comfortable in the hot and humid weather of the tropics.

7. Luau Party
One of the special cultural features that visitors need to experience when coming to the islands is the Luau party - a traditional Hawaiian-style party. A colorful party of food, sounds, and vibrant folk music dances. The main course of the party is a special roast pork cooked next to a large coal pit. The dish is called Kalua Pork, and the process of perfecting this type of food also takes quite a bit of time. Besides, Hawaiians also have a typical mashed potato dish called poi, with 3 different ways of use depending on the consistency. Another special thing is that all dishes at the Luau party must be used by hand, not with cutlery as usual. Maybe you wonder how mashed potatoes can be eaten with your bare hands, well, there's one way to find out, come to Hawaii and the people will show you how to use it :D!
